• All football players: There is a mandatory lunch meeting on Friday 2/13, in Steven's room 05. We will be discussing offseason weightlifting and changes to uniform policy.
• It’s time again!! Miss Ione applications are available in the office with Megan. If you are a girl between 16-18 years old and live in Ione, please consider running for Miss Ione. The pageant is held on Saturday May 2nd. You could win a $1,000 scholarship!! If you have questions, come see Megan in the office.
• Our food service director, Mike Pingree, has been working in partnership with CalFresh Healthy Living, UCCE, and MotherLode Land Trust to develop a half-acre school farm pilot project at C&C Ranch in Jackson. The purpose of this farm is to grow fruits and vegetables that can be served in all school cafeteria salad bars. We are harvesting produce in the next few weeks to go into the salad bars at Amador High School and Argonaut High School, with hopefully the opportunity to expand to all schools later this year. This farm is also a great opportunity for students to learn more about agriculture, environmental science, and nutrition, with future opportunities for field trips and externships. • Community Service Opportunity: Come volunteer to help with the Families in Transition Program (FIT). This is a great opportunity for students to give back, gain meaningful experience, and complete their hours in a supportive and structured setting. Contact Gladys Bell at 209-256-9277.
• Do you need your volunteer hours? Tuesday's at Jackson Fitness, from 4-6 PM, one of our students who is training for the Special Olympics in Basketball could use some help. If you are interested, just show up to help him, and his mom will sign off on your hours.
