The ACUSD/ACOE Community Newsletter is a weekly communication from the Amador County Unified School District and Amador County Office of Education. The purpose of this newsletter is to keep our families, staff, and community members informed about our district!

Let's Celebrate Our Staff!

May 5–9 is Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week, and we want to hear from you!
Has a teacher, coach, or staff member at ACUSD/ACOE made a difference in your or your child's life?
Say thank you with a quick message by filling out this Google Form.
We'll make sure they receive it, and we'll share a few on social media, too!
Help us show our educators and staff just how much they mean to our community.

Dental Screenings at TK/Kindergarten Enrollment Event!

Our final TK/Kindergarten Enrollment Event is Wednesday, May 14!

Mira Yang, RDHAP, will be available for any student needing a quick dental assessment from 2-5 in the Staff, Student, and Family Resource Center. We look forward to seeing your student there to enroll and receive a free dental screening!

Community Advisory Committee (CAC) Meeting

The next CAC meeting will be held next week. The meeting is open to the public and will be available in person and via Zoom.

News From the Community

Art Contest - Indian Grinding Rock

Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park will be hosting an Art Contest on June 14th & 15th, in celebration of California State Parks Week. They are looking for artists of all ages to submit a piece that captures the park's significance.

To enter, please email a high-quality photo of your art piece to indiangrindingrockshp@parks.ca.gov. The email submission deadline is June 2nd.

Kids Community Bulletin

 

School Board Updates

The next School Board meeting will take place on May 7, 2025, at the Amador County Administration Center located at 810 Court St. Jackson, CA 95642. Open Session begins at 6:30 p.m.

ELOP Staff at Celebrate Our Children

Our Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) staff had a blast at Celebrate Our Children on Saturday!

Jackson El. Students Learn & Teach History

Jackson Elementary held its annual Wax Museum! 5th-grade students in Mr. Klement's class each chose an important historical figure and built a museum display about the person they chose. They wore costumes, created props, and wrote reports to recite to students and parents visiting the museum.
